Claims about future intelligence should be distinguished carefully from demonstrated present capability. Timelines for AGI, superintelligence and related concepts remain uncertain and contested.

Agents, autonomy and embodied systems

This collection considers artificial intelligence that plans, acts, uses tools or interacts with digital and physical environments.

Agency, autonomy, embodiment and sentience are distinct concepts. A system may perform autonomous actions without possessing general intelligence, consciousness or moral agency.

Governance, regulation and societal effects

Artificial-intelligence research cannot be separated from the institutions, people and environments affected by its use. These resources examine accountability, safety, transparency, fairness, human oversight and the social consequences of intelligent systems.
